Every time Cartersvsville (Ga.) three-star offensive tackle Malachi Toliver leaves Athens, his feelings about Georgia have grown more and more. Over the weekend Toliver to another visit to Georgia.

This latest visit ultimately sealed the deal for Toliver as he announced his commitment to the Bulldogs Sunday afternoon.

“I’ve been having a good feeling since I went up there in January and I could see my self going there, Toliver told On3. “This past weekend while I was there, it really showed that I belonged there, they have a plan for me and they want me. I feel comfortable there and it feels like home to me.

“I was talking to my high school coach before I went and he said that if that’s how I felt then I should do it so I went ahead and made it official.”

Toliver and his family met with Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels before they left campus and Toliver brought up to him how he was feeling. Once Toliver told Searels that he thought Georgia was the place for him, Searels told him to be sure to tell Kirby Smart what he was thinking.

In the meeting with Smart, Toliver told him and they made it official.

“Coach Searels is a great coach,” Toliver said. “Ever since they offered me, we’ve built a greater relationship than what we had before. I think he’s a great coach and him coaching me is going to make me a better football player and a better man off of the field.”

“Coach Smart has been texting me, Coach Searels has been texting me and some assistant o-line guys have been texting me. I felt the love from them and it made me want to commit even more than I did before.”

Toliver’s commitment is just another strong step in building the Georgia’s 2024 recruiting class. The Bulldogs have 11 commitments so far and the No. 1 class in the country after finishing the 2023 cycle with the No. 2 class nationally.

Coming off back-to-back national titles and several top-5 classes now under Smart, Toliver said that he just sees nothing but but continued greatness for Georgia on the horizon.

“It’s a new dynasty being built there,” Toliver said. “I’m glad that I get to be a part of it and I feel very blessed. I feel them wanting me says something about how they feel I can affect the dynasty and affect where the program is going when it comes to winning championships.”
