Mike Bobo to be named Georgia's OC, replacing NFL-bound Todd Monken

Georgia lost its offensive coordinator Tuesday morning when the Baltimore Ravens announced their decision to hire Todd Monken to the same role. The Bulldogs are acting fast to replace him, though.

Mike Bobo, who spent last season as an offensive analyst at UGA, appears set to take over for Monken, On3 and DawgsHQ’s Jake Rowe reported. The Athletic’s Seth Emerson first reported the potential hire. A former Bulldogs quarterback, it will be Bobo’s second stint as Georgia’s offensive coordinator after previously holding the role from 2007-14.

Bobo left after the 2014 season to become the head coach at Colorado State, where he worked from 2015-19 and amassed a 28-35 overall record and a 20-20 mark in Mountain West action. After parting ways with the Rams, he spent a year as the offensive coordinator and eventually interim head coach at South Carolina in 2020. From there, he went to Auburn under Bryan Harsin, where he spent 2021 before his firing after the season.

Baltimore Ravens announce Georgia’s Todd Monken as new offensive coordinator

Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken is heading back to the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens are hiring him to the same role, they announced Tuesday.

Monken’s name has been a hot one in league circles this offseason after helping the Bulldogs to their second consecutive national championship. He also interviewed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for whom he worked from 2016-18 before arriving in Athens.

Since taking over in Athens, he helped the Bulldogs to two straight national championships, including the program’s first in 40 years. He also played a key role in the development of Stetson Bennett, who became a Heisman Trophy finalist and won both titles for Georgia at quarterback.

Now, he’s heading to Baltimore to take over for Greg Roman, and the Ravens are gearing up for an important offseason — starting with a decision on quarterback Lamar Jackson.
