Stetson Bennett is going out on top, winning back-to-back national championships. He has been described as the greatest Georgia Bulldog of all time by his head coach, Kirby Smart. Bennett does not have anything left to prove at the collegiate level.

Next up for Bennett is the NFL, where the quarterback will begin the draft process. For most graduating seniors, the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl is a great place to practice and play a live game in front of NFL scouts, coaches, and general managers. Taking place down in Mobile, Ala. on Feb. 4.

However, Bennett will not be participating in the event, Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy revealed, via Outkick. The two were in discussions for the Georgia quarterback making his way across state lines and into Mobile but Bennett was the one who decided against the idea.

There did not appear to be any ill will between the two sides regarding the decisions. Things did not just line up with one another.

However, one report from former Georgia quarterback Buck Buck Belue, now of 680 The Fan, states that perhaps the Senior Bowl was too slow for an invite for Bennett while waiting on Kentucky quarterback Will Levis.

Bennett will now turn his attention to preparing for the NFL combine, where he will surely garner a ton of headlines and attention. Playing the underdog role for most of his career in Athens, Bennett will head to the next level with the same chip on his shoulder.

Stetson Bennett turning pro after two national championships

Bennett was never the quarterback any Georgia fans running the offense and yet, he will leave with two national championships under his belt. A combined 29-1 over the last two seasons, his lone blemish came in the 2021 SEC Championship against Alabama.

The loss was quickly made up a few weeks later, taking down the Crimson Tide in the title game.

As to how he translates in the NFL, scouts will have to wait to get some measurable on him. Bennett was listed at 5-11, 190 pounds during his final season at Georgia. Not exactly the size people at the next level are looking for.

Bennett could have used the opportunity to showcase his talents at the Senior Bowl but the two were never able to figure anything out. Indianapolis will be where we see the quarterback next, hoping to be prove he is more than a draftable player.
