Georgia four-star tight end commit Pearce Spurlin III is a prolific pass catcher for Santa Rosa Beach (Fla.) South Walton.

In his final regular season game of the season, Spurlin made one of the best catches of his young career.

Lining up out wide to the left, Spurlin ran a simple go route down the sideline. Kemper Hodges lofted a deep ball towards Spurlin, who extends out his left hand for a remarkable one-handed catch.

Santa Rosa Beach (Fla.) South Walton won the game 41-6 over Pensacola (Fla.) Lighthouse Private Christian.

Entering the game, Spurlin had 53 catches for a team-high 1084 receiving yards and 15 touchdown receptions. He also has 16 tackles on the season.

Spurlin is the No. 71-ranked player in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the third tight end in the class.

Spurlin’s grab wasn’t even the highlight of the game from the wide receivers. His teammate and South Florida commit Cade Roberts became the all-time receptions leader in Florida high school history with 254. Roberts, the son of former Florida State tight end Dave Roberts, also has 3,427 receiving yard in his career.

Pearce Spurlin has been committed to the Bulldogs since last year

It is early in the 2023 recruiting cycle but Georgia already has the groundwork for another top-five recruiting class in the country.

Pearce Spurlin was the first commit in the class, pledging to the Bulldogs on Sept. 30, 2020. Since then, five other commits have joined him.

All six of the commits are rated as four-star recruits, and four of them — including Spurlin — are top 100 commits.

The other three are Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes offensive tackle Bo Hughley, Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove cornerback Kayin Lee and Grovetown (Ga.) cornerback Marcus Washington.
