For all the people who have watched Jordan Davis play college football the past few years, you likely knew he was going to run a fast 40-yard dash time. What he ran on Saturday night at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, however, shattered any and all expectations for him. The big man went scorched Earth in Indianapolis and ran one of the most impressive 40-yard dash times in the event’s history.

Standing at 6-foot-6, 341 pounds, Davis just ran an unofficial 4.82 40-yard dash. Watch it below.

Simply put, the tweet above is not far off. For a man to be 341 pounds and run a 4.82-40 yard dash is beyond comprehension.

The official 40-yard dash time came back in from the NFL Network and it turns out, Davis ran an official time of 4.78. That’s mind-blowing. His official 40-yard dash time is the fastest ever at the NFL Scouting Combine by a player over 340 pounds and by a good margin. The second fastest time was run by Dontari Poe of Memphis back in 2012, he ran a 4.98.

To gain some perspective on just how good his 40-time was, check out the tweet from PFF’s Trevor Sikkema.

Davis’ performance today on the NFL Network’s Simulcam was just as mind-blowing. For Davis to run faster than Jameis Winston and Baker Mayfield is just ridiculous. Not only did he impress in the 40-yard dash, he posted a 10-feet, 3-inch broad jump and a 32-inch vertical leap. Once again, those are just insane numbers for a man his size.

Jordan Davis racked up the hardware this season

Jordan Davis was the 2021 winner of the Outland Trophy, given annually to college football’s top interior lineman, and the Chuck Bednarik Award, given annually to college football’s best defensive player. He was also a consensus first-team All American and a unanimous All-SEC selection. The former Georgia defensive lineman was also a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.

During the 2021 campaign, Davis racked up 32 tackles5.5 tackles for losstwo sacks, and a pass breakup in his final season. Davis also had two carries for two yards and a touchdown.

While Davis still has one year of eligibility remaining, it’s no surprise he decided to turn pro and prepare for the NFL Draft, because many scouts have him pegged as a first rounder.
