Georgia safety Lewis Cine had an impressive performance in the broad jump at Sunday’s NFL Scouting Combine. After posting a jump of 10-feet and 11-inches on his first attempt, Cine improved on that number with a second jump of 11-feet, one-inch.

The Georgia safety weighed in at 6-foot-2, 199 pounds and also posted a vertical jump of 36.5 inches. He was one of a host of defensive backs to compete on the final day of the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Cine was a key member of the Bulldogs unit that finished this past season first in the FBS in scoring defense and second in total defense. He finished the year with a career-high 73 tackles to go along with an interception and nine passes defended. Georgia went on to claim its first national championship since 1980, defeating Alabama by a score of 33-18.

To put Lewis Cine’s broad jump in perspective, he finished just outside the top 10 results of all-time at the combine. Connecticut defensive back Byron Jones, who now plays for the Miami Dolphins, is the only player to ever go over 12 feet after posting a 12-foot, three-inch broad jump in 2015. Cine also posted the third-best broad jump at this year’s combine regardless of position. North Dakota State receiver Christian Watson is first with a jump of 11-feet, four-inches.

Cine is currently listed as the No. 6 overall safety according to CBS Sports’ big board. However, based on his results from Sunday, he could soon find himself much higher on that list. He had already received praise from several NFL draft scout, including Daniel Jeremiah, prior to his combine performance.

“Cine is a tough, physical safety who plays much bigger than his size. He spent a lot time aligned in the deep half of the field versus the pass,” Jeremiah wrote. “He has good instincts and range to put himself in position to make plays, but he struggles to catch the ball. He was inconsistent in man coverage against tight ends. He gives up separation out of the break, but he has the ability to recover and locate the ball in the air. Cine is at his best against the run. He takes excellent angles to the ball and explodes to the alley for big hits. He brought a lot of energy to the Georgia defense. Cine is still developing in coverage, but I love his toughness and energy.
