No. 1 Georgia extended its lead over No. 11 Kentucky again in the third quarter with a high-arching touchdown throw to the corner by quarterback Stetson Bennett. Connecting with freshman tight end Brock Bowers, the Bulldogs quarterback helped push the lead to 21-7 and provided the defense with extra cushion.

On second-and-seven from the Kentucky 27-yard line, Stetson Bennett threw a pass high over the defensive backs for a touchdown. Tight end Brock Bowers leaked down the sideline and leaped over the defender with his feet inbounds, scoring an important touchdown. The play was then reviewed, but replay could not overturn the ruling because Bowers’ body covered any potential movement.

Bennett has leaned on his tight ends when passing the ball Saturday, completing five passes to tight ends and just four to wide receivers. In total, the former backup has 201 passing yards and two touchdowns, with two completions to Bowers.

Kirby Smart on College GameDay

For the second time in three weeks, ESPN’s College GameDay is setting up in Athens, Georgia. The decision to return provides No. 1 Georgia a chance to show off its new ranking and impress fans across the country with a top 15 SEC showdown. Preparing for another tough challenge, head coach Kirby Smart called for Georgia fans to help the team anyway possible.

During a Friday appearance on the SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum Show, Smart complimented the Georgia fanbase and called for help against Kentucky this Saturday.

“It’s awesome,” Kirby Smart said about the second College GameDay broadcast in three weeks. “It’s what it’s about, right? The fans want to enjoy it, our state deserves it. And you know, we got a lot of great prospects going to be on campus. What better environment to have them in than this, and they enjoy that. Our fans are second to none, what they did that Arkansas game and how they’re going to turn out tomorrow, I think it just brings more energy to the program.”

Georgia delivered in its first College GameDay game of the season, beating No. 8 Arkansas 37-0 without starting quarterback JT Daniels. The formula remains the same against No. 11 Kentucky, dominate on defense and capitalize on offensive chances with quarterback Stetson Bennett.

The versatile run game offered by Zamir White, Kendall Milton and James Cook looks to rule the day once again with early success against the stout Kentucky defense.
