A little more than five months after committing to Georgia Tech, in-state safety Javion Clark has backed off his pledge to the Yellow Jackets, he announced Tuesday.

Clark, a 2023 prospect from Jones County High School in Gray, committed to Georgia Tech in August over an offer from Jacksonville State.

“After careful consideration, discussion with my “family,” and prayer, I have arrived at a difficult but necessary decision,” Clark wrote on Twitter. “I’ve decided to decommit from the Georgia Institute of Technology. I appreciate the time and relationships that have been established. I truly appreciate the opportunity, but I have to do what is best for me and my future. At this time, I feel that it is best to see the recruitment process through and explore all available options.”

The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder was one of two commits in the 2023 class for the Yellow Jackets, along with three-star EDGE Zachariah Keith.
