Notre Dame‘s loss is the ACC’s gain. After announcing he was transferring following the 2021 season, former Fighting Irish safety Khari Gee revealed he’s joining Georgia Tech.

On Sunday, Gee took to social media to reveal his new threads.

“This is about more than Football. New Opportunities and New Beginnings,” tweeted Gee. “Back in my city ready to work.”

Moreover, Gee redshirted last season — not seeing the field at all for Notre Dame. He was a three-star recruit from the Class of 2021 and was the No. 40 prospect in the state of Georgia, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He held offers from multiple big names during his recruitment, including Clemson, LSU and Oregon. It’s a hit for the Fighting Irish’s depth in the secondary, which is gearing up to lose star safety Kyle Hamilton to the NFL.

Notre Dame went 11-1 this season, but ended the campaign with a demoralizing loss to Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl. Marcus Freeman will lead the program into a new era, but Khari Gee won’t be there.

More on Khari Gee, Georgia Tech

Khari Gee is joining a Georgia Tech squad hoping to improve by leaps and bounds in 2022. In addition to Gee, the Yellow Jackets added former Louisville running back Hassan Hall – who entered the NCAA Transfer Portal back on Nov. 11 – to the team.

Hall announced on his Twitter account earlier this week he was joining the squad. He’s a former On3 Consensus three-star recruit out of the Class of 2018.

Hall, a 6-foot, 204-pound back, recorded 38 carries for 272 yards and a touchdown for the Cardinals this past season. His best outing of the year came in a loss to Virginia on Oct. 9, when he ran for 162 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Over four seasons at Louisville, Hall tallied 270 carries for 1,299 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also made 22 receptions for 175 yards.

An Atlanta, Georgia native who prepped at Maynard Jackson High School, Hall committed to Louisville over offers from Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Tulane, Colorado State, Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic, among others.

As Georgia Tech attempts to turn the tides, they’re bringing home athletes from the area to do so. It’s a strategy that’s worked for programs in the past, and it could work for a team where the talent in Georgia is so prominent. Time will tell who else Gee and Hall can convince to join them at Georgia Tech, but the Yellow Jackets may be on the rise.
