Hudson Greer, the No. 26 overall player in On3’s 2025 Top-150 Rankings, has set his first official visit to Iowa. The 6-foot-6, rising junior will visit the Hawkeyes on September 15-17.

The four-star wing out of Austin (Texas) Lake Travis also holds offers from Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Creighton, Kansas State, LSU, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, and others.

“I’m a slasher right now, but I can step out and shoot the three,” Greer recently told On3. “My work with my ball handling has shown with my ability to get to the rack. Right now, I’m focused on improving my defense, so I’m watching a lot of Jimmy Butler. But, I also love the way Jayson Tatum scores it, both on the ball and off the ball.”

Greer knows what he’s looking for in a school

“I’m going to look closely at the way the coach interacts with his players,” Greer said to On3 previously. “For me, I don’t really care about the location. I can go to the cold, I can go to the hot; I just want a coach that I know, and trust will be there for everyone.

“For my game, especially being a slasher who can step out, a system where I can run the floor constantly fits my game. I definitely say I can thrive in the half-court offense. Just running the court and getting busy in transition is what I love to do.”

Scouting Report

“Hudson Greer has a good frame with nice positional size. You can tell he is young and has some maturing to do when it comes to strength. He is a bursty athlete with good straight-line bounce. He can get on the rim in the half-court and throw it down in traffic. Greer is a smooth three-point shooter with deep range. He has a quick release and shoots with outstanding balance. Greer will need to continue tightening the handle, but he can play off one and two dribbles to get to his spots in the mid-range. Greer already carries multiple high major offers; he is trending as a national prospect in the 2025 class.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
