Caitlin Clark logged her 16th career triple double during Iowa‘s 101-85 victory over Illinois at home on Sunday.

Still scoring a team-high 24 points, Clark also grabbed 15 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Clark was able to set up multiple teammates for success, including fellow Iowa guard Kate Martin. She scored 13 points and made three 3-pointers thanks to some of the looks Clark was giving her and her teammates.

“Obviously, it helps. She’s getting rebounds and she’s passing the ball to us and we’re knocking the shots down,” Martin said during the postgame broadcast on FS1. “I could tell she was maybe going to get a triple double with how many rebounds she had. Because every time I looked up she was getting a new rebound, so I was really impressed with that. It just shows that she’s not just a scorer and that she can do other things and that’s super impressive.”

Almost all of Clark’s points came from beyond the arc against the Fighting Illini. She nailed five treys on 15 attempts and cashed in on 7-of-8 free throw attempts during the contest.

Meanwhile, Clark’s generousness with the basketball helped three of her teammates, including Martin, score in double figures.

Forward Hannah Stuelke logged 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including nine rebounds of her own. Just like Martin, senior guard Molly Davis also finished 3-of-6 from the 3-point line.

Together, these four players scored 77 points while Illinois finished with 85 as a team. Clark’s unselfishness can be to thank for that — and she still finished with the most points on her team.

The win gives the Hawkeyes a bit of momentum after suffering an 86-69 defeat of the season against No. 14 Indiana on Thursday.

“Obviously, you have a little spark coming off of a loss like that,” Martin said. “But we had really even scoring tonight and they had a lot of people come in off the bench and contribute. So we always love to see that and I’m really proud of everybody who stepped up and knocked some shots down.”

Now, the Hawkeyes move on to their final two games of the regular season. They hit the road one final time this season against Minnesota before finishing the schedule out at home against No. 2 Ohio State.

Wednesday’s game against the Golden Gophers is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET and will be aired live on Peacock.
