Kentucky may have fallen at Arkansas on the road, losing by a 75-73 final, but the Wildcats know that they are building something special, a brotherhood that will last long into the postseason, according to guard Davion Mintz.

Mintz, who logged 19 minutes in the loss at Bud Walton Arena, went 0-for-2 from the field, corraling one rebound, while amassing two assists and a steal. Mintz is seldom in the starting lineup due to Kentucky’s talented backcourt, but with Sahvir Wheeler and TyTy Washington coming back from injuries, John Calipari opted to give Mintz the start. However, Mintz fell short of his season averages, as he’s currently tallying 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest.

A fifth-year senior that transferred from Creighton after the 2018-19 season, Mintz has been apart of several locker rooms — five different rosters, to be exact. And yet, despite starting just five games in 2021-22, he believes this Kentucky team is special, thanks in part to its camaraderie.

“This is the best brotherhood I’ve ever been around my entire life,” Mintz said of the Kentucky team on Monday morning. “It’s the best team I’ve ever been on in my life.”

Kentucky has just two regular-season games left on schedule, starting with a Tuesday night matchup at home against Ole Miss. Then, the Wildcats will take to Florida on March 5 for their last game before postseason play begins.
