Mississippi State cornerback transfer DeCarlos Nicholson sets visit to Kentucky
Former Mississippi State cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson could be looking to stay in the SEC for his next school. Nicholson is set to visit Kentucky this weekend, according to Steve Wiltfong.
Nicholson entered the transfer portal on Thursday. He is rated as the No. 33 cornerback in the portal, according to the On3 Industry transfer portal rankings.
DeCarlos Nicholson appeared in all 12 games this past season, making seven starts. He finished the year with 42 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and a pair of pass breakups. That includes three tackles he made against Kentucky last season.
During the 2022 season — Nicholson’s first at Mississippi State — he finished with five tackles and one pass breakup, while appearing in all 13 games.
It was a tough year for the Bulldogs this past season as they went 5-7. Kentucky, which is a school Nicholson is considering, is 7-5 entering bowl season. The Wildcats are set to face Clemson in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 29. Kickoff for that game is set for Noon. It will be televised by ESPN.
