The Kentucky Wildcats have picked up a former SEC rival in Mississippi State’s defensive back, Londyn Craft, via the transfer portal. The Wildcats made it official, on Saturday, that they have added the New Mexico native. Craft is in his final year of college eligibility and will be listed as a walk-on for Kentucky.

Craft sports a rangy 6-foot 200-pound frame with the skill set and pedigree to be an elite athlete. His father, Douglas, played in both the CFL and NFL in his career, with his most extended stop being with the Montreal Als from 1996-98.

This is not the first time the super senior has joined a team under the title of walk-on. When Craft joined Mississippi State for his junior season in 2020, he had to follow a similar process after leaving from another SEC West rival, Arkansas. Before that, he started off his collegiate career at Stephen F. Austin in 2017.

During his junior season with the Bulldogs, Craft spent much of his time at the safety position. There he recorded 56 total tackles, 31 solo, two passes defended, and a forced fumble over a ten-game span. Craft started in eight of the ten games he played in that season.

The super senior who played his high school ball in Florida at IMG Academy will look to be an immediate contributor on defense for the Wildcats. Kentucky is a little thin in the secondary after Vito Tisdale went down with an injury in spring practice, earlier in the offseason. If the Wildcats can get the level of productivity Craft showed in 2020 in the upcoming season, then look for him to be an impact player this year for the Wildcats defense.

Kentucky receives commitment from 3-star DB Nasir Addison

Kentucky recorded its sixth recruiting win in July on Saturday evening. Three-star athlete Nasir Addison has committed to the Wildcats.

The two-way player at Irvington (N.J.) High is listed as a receiver by most recruiting services, but Kentucky has recruited the prospect to play defensive back. After committing to Maryland on Oct. 9, Addison backed off that pledge this month with Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Ole Miss emerging as the top options. The Wildcats defeated a couple of Power Five programs to land a recruit from New Jersey for the first time since signing Josh Allen in 2015.

Nasir Addison is the No. 1,260 ranked prospect in the class of 2023 according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
