Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake three-star cornerback Raemon Mosby felt at home with Louisville. He’s been locked in on the Cardinals. The Cardinals have been on Mosby since he was a rising sophomore.

Louisville’s coaching staff pushed for Mosby hard over the last few months. Mosby grew a strong bond with Louisville defensive backs coach Steve Ellis when he took over in January.

Ellis first made contact with Mosby while coaching cornerbacks at East Carolina. The two have connected and Mosby felt comfortable making the move to join him at Louisville.

“They’ve been recruiting me since the 10th grade,” Mosby said. “When coach Ellis came in he had been recruiting me at ECU. He’s been recruiting me since the beginning. He showed me that he wanted me… He’s my ability and what I can do. He told me some things that I can work on that he can help with. I feel like that’s the big thing. He can help me become a better player. That’s why I rock with coach Ellis.”

Mosby took his official visit to Louisville in June. The visit blew him away. He connected with the staff and loved the football facilities as well as Louisville as a city.

“When I went up to the facility, it was everything,” Mosby said. “I loved the facility. I felt the love.”

The setup for Louisville to a major attraction in the state of Kentucky was an attractive piece of the puzzle for Mosby. Louisville doesn’t have any professional sports teams in town.

Mosby sees that as an opportunity for the football program to be in the spotlight.

“It gives me time to promote myself, make a name for myself and the football program has its own city, so that was a really cool thing,” Mosby said.

Raemon Mosby has new intriguing offer on the table

Mosby is locked in with Lousiville and has been quietly for some time. Miami extended an offer to the 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback last week.

Mosby is tentatively planning on taking a visit to Miami at some point after the dead period. He hasn’t scheduled anything as of now with the Hurricanes but they have made it clear of their intentions now that they have extended an offer.

“They’re just doing their job of trying to flip me,” Mosby said. “I was already locked in… I was thinking that I may take a visit after the dead period and keep my options open.”
