As anticipated, three-star Mandeville, La., receiver Landon Ibieta has flipped his commitment from Miami to LSU.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Ibieta announced his change of heart Tuesday night with a social media post. Ibieta began complimenting the Tigers shortly after the coaching changes in Baton Rouge and Coral Gables. He received a new scholarship offer from Brian Kelly on his birthday weekend.

His present back to LSU was a commitment on Tuesday.

Landon Ibieta is ranked as the No. 88 receiver in the country and the 29th-recruit in Louisiana, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Before Landon Ibieta made his flip to LSU, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine was heavily tilting in the Tigers’ favor. What helped LSU’s case were the coaching changes at both schools and a renewed pursuit by the Tigers coaches. Plus, now Ibieta can stay closer to home to play his college football.

Landon Ibieta is considered a do-it-all type of receiver that could also help the Tigers on special teams. As a senior, he had 37 receptions for 734 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for 251 yards and eight scores. On special teams, he had two punt return scores.

Landon Ibieta had more than 1,200 yards of all-purpose offense as a junior and got into the end zone 12 times for Mandeville.
