Following in the footsteps of fellow LSU commit TreVonte’ Citizen, five-star interior offensive lineman Will Campbell went out of his way Wednesday to let Tigers fans know he is not jumping off the ship.

Campebll, who is a Pelican State native and plays high school ball for Monroe (La.) Neville, tweeted a single world “Solid” followed by a Tiger emoji.

The connotation was loud and clear — especially after Citizen did the same thing earlier in the day.

They are also not the first two players to tweet this out.

Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic four-star offensive lineman Emery Jones and Lafayette (La.) Lafayette Christian Academy three-star defensive lineman Fitzgerald West started the movement Tuesday.

LSU’s class hasn’t crumbled in the wake of Ed Oregron’s announcement — yet

When Ed Oregron and LSU announced that Oregron would not be returning after the conclusion of the 2021 season, there were a lot of questions raised about what it would mean for the recruiting class.

So far, it has been a lot more of wait-and-see instead of the more-immediate reactions shown by TCU recruits over the last few days. Neither way is right or wrong by the recruits, but the former gives LSU plenty of time to recalibrate and keep the class together.

Only one player has decommitted from the Tigers since the Oregron news. That was New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr wide receiver Aaron Anderson, who committed to Alabama.

“I made this decision based off of my relationship with Coach Orgeron at LSU,” Anderson said when he committed last week. “We had an agreement that if he left, I’d be taking my talent to Alabama.”

While the class has stuck pretty much together, that doesn’t mean it will stay that way.

Lafayette (La.) St. Thomas More four-star quarterback Walker Howard is a prime example of this. Walker is an LSU commit and LSU legacy — his dad Jamie started for four years at quarterback for the Tigers. But he and his family know that the next coaching staff will play a huge role in whether he and other players stay around.

“It might be the best coach for LSU but it might not be the best coach for your son,” Jamie Howard said.
