With training camp right around the corner, it’s not too early to talk about potential breakout stars for the 2022 college football season. LSU offensive lineman Anthony Bradford listed his candidates recently, and it might not be a player fans would initially think about.

Bradford joined On3’s Billy Embody on The Bengal Tiger podcast this week and threw out some names who can have big years for the Tigers in the first year of the Brian Kelly era. He dropped two names on the offensive line fans should expect to see: Charles Turner and Cameron Wire.

“There’s a couple of us,” Bradford said. “Charles Turner, for sure. … We’ve been here, we came in at the same time, we’ve been grinding. I’ve been talking to him every day. That’s my right-hand man. I know his passion for the game, I know what he wants for himself and for the team. So I feel like that’s a big breakout name that y’all [are] going to be hearing a lot this year.

“Cameron Wire, he played a lot last year, but I feel like he’s got some more stuff to put out there on the table for people to see. That’s another name that y’all should be looking out for this year.”

Turner and Wire were both four-star recruits out of high school. Wire was the No. 25 offensive lineman from the class of 2018 and Turner was the nation’s No. 29 lineman prospect in 2019, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Anthony Bradford explains the reason LSU will ‘shock a lot of people’ in 2022

Anthony Bradford believes LSU can surprise the masses during the 2022 season under Brian Kelly.

Speaking on The Bengal Tiger podcast this week, the Tigers offensive lineman talked about why he thinks LSU will “shock a lot of people” in 2022. Evidently, the emphasis Kelly puts on the team, instead of the individual, is a big reason why.

“Brian Kelly, he’s big on team,” Bradford said. “He doesn’t preach the individual stuff of the game. He’s big on team. I just feel like he’s great for our team. For the group of guys that we got here. .. What we’re trying to build here at LSU. .. To do what we believe we can do with the athletes that we got here.”
