Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest four-star offensive tackle Jonathan Daniels has locked in an official visit with LSU on June 2. He announced the news on Twitter Wednesday night.

The trip back to Baton Rouge will be the third for Daniels who was last on campus on March 28.

Daniels is the No. 67 overall prospect and No. 6 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 11 player in Florida.

On3 rates Daniels significantly higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Nichols is a five-star recruit, the No. 11 overall prospect in the country, the No. 1 offensive tackle and the No. 3 player in Florida.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), LSU sits in a distant second to Florida State. The Seminoles currently hold an 89.3% chance to land a pledge from the 6-foot-4, 270-pounder while LSU sits at 3.1%.

The official to LSU is the second official visit he’s announced as he’ll also take one to Florida State on June 23.

“Every time I come back, it’s different,” Daniels told On3’s Sam Spiegelman regarding the Seminoles in April. “It’s a different environment and different atmosphere. It’s always something new, it’s never the same. The hype, the environment, it’s outrageous.”

“It’s something different every time. Speaking to Coach (Alex) Atkins and Coach (Mike) Norvell, every time I go down there it’s that one-on-one, all of us having that bond, that relationship and talking about official visits — and me being able to fit in a little bit over there.”

Florida State may hold a significant lead in Daniel’s recruitment according to the RPM but his March visit to LSU was also one that made an impact.

“Oh my God … the environment, the environment, the environment,” Daniels stated. “There were so many people welcoming me in and showing so much love to someone they barely knew. You could really see what’s so big about the LSU program. The communication is there and we have really been building (a relationship).”

Daniels currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $109K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
