LSU star Angel Reese ended Sunday’s second-round NCAA Tournament matchup with yet another double-double. Scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in LSU’s 83-56 win over Middle Tennessee State after finding themselves down at halftime.

But Reese didn’t just help the Tigers advance to the Sweet Sixteen for a second straight season, she also etched her name in the record books.

Sunday marked Reese’s 25th double-double of the season and her 14th straight dating back to January. But it was also her eighth straight double-double in the NCAA Tournament, which is the third-longest streak by a player in the last 25 years.

Reese had a dominant impact in LSU’s NCAA Tournament run last season, averaging 21.3 points and 15.1 rebounds per game in last year’s tournament as the Tigers went on to win the national championship. Taking home NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player in the process.

Her recent accomplishment is just the latest in her storied career in The Bayou, setting the NCAA single-season record for double-doubles and the SEC single-season record in rebounds last season. Named the SEC Player of the Year this season and an All-American for the second straight year, averaging 18.7 points and 13.3 rebounds per game (ranking second in college basketball) in her senior season.

Reese will have another chance to keep adding to her legacy in the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament, as LSU will take on the winner of Monday’s second-round matchup between Creighton and UCLA in their pursuit of back-to-back national championship wins.

Angel Reese waves goodbye to Middle Tennessee Anastasiia Boldyreva after fouling her out

LSU waved goodbye to Middle Tennessee State’s lead in the third quarter of their second-round matchup of the Women’s NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

Tigers’ star Angel Reese also did some waving of her own after MTSU center Anastasiia Boldyreva fouled out of Sunday’s game. Waving goodbye to Boldyreva after she drew her fifth foul of the afternoon on a Reese layup attempt in a savage moment that can be seen below.

Boldyreva was clearly not pleased with the foul call, seen filled with frustration as she took the sideline with tears in her eyes. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field with nine points, two rebounds, and three blocks before fouling out of the game, as the Conference-USA Defensive Player of the Year only logged 16 minutes in Sunday’s contest while facing foul trouble. With MTSU eventually falling 83-56 to the defending national champions.
