Brian Kelly has made recruiting the state of Louisiana a top priority since he took over at LSU. The 2024 class was a prime example, as the Tigers signed 11 of the top 13 prospects in the state en route to the country’s No. 7 overall recruiting class.

Their plan looks to be the same in 2025 as well, already holding commitment from seven of the state’s top 10 players.

They have eyes on a few others from the Boot as well, including New Orleans Edna Karr defensive lineman Corey Adams. While Adams might not rank among the top 10 right now, he is one that both the LSU staff and On3’s scouting and rankings team are both high on. He currently sits just outside four-star status in the latest On300 rankings and could make a big jump with a strong senior campaign.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder is considering a number of schools, but it’s the in-state Tigers holding the momentum right now. On Tuesday, LSU recruiting insiders Billy Embody and Shea Dixon both logged picks in LSU’s favor in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Breaking down predictions for the Tigers

Of his pick for Adams to the Bayou Bengals, Dixon wrote:

“The Tigers don’t have any defensive linemen or edge rushers committed for the 2025 class, but the additions of defensive line coach Bo Davis and edge rushers coach Kevin Peoples has shaken up the board and brought new names into the mix. For Adams, the New Orleans native is a defensive line target who has remained on the board from the prior defensive staff, and area recruiter Frank Wilson has played a big role in keeping the Tigers firmly in the top group.

… Adams has made multiple visits to LSU over the past six months, and between the push from Wilson and the staff and the connections Adams has to the program, our predictions for the Tigers went in with a confidence score of 75%.”

Adams picked up an offer from Brian Kelly and the in-state Tigers in October. He was back in Baton Rouge in Janury for LSU’s elite junior day alongside a handful of his Edna Karr teammates and also members of his family.

“They made me feel welcome,” Adams On3 of his visit back to LSU. “There’s a lot of new bonds I need ot create. Their EDGE coach (Kevin Peoples) hits me up every now and then. When I was down there, I liked it, my parents liked it, and my brothers liked it. They were in love with it. They talked about academics, how the school runs and how it helps you out in life.”
