The LSU Tigers have announced former players Christian LaCotoure, Jacob Hester and Bennie Logan will serve as guest captains for Saturday’s game against Central Michigan.

LaCotoure played at LSU from 2013 to 2017. Hailing from Lincoln (Nebraska) Southeast High School, LaCoutoure was a three-year starter for the Tigers at defensive end. In his career, he recorded 152 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. As a senior in 2017, LaCotoure was second on the team in tackles, with 66, adding 8.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.

LaCotoure earned the No. 18 jersey as a senior. At LSU, the No. 18 jersey goes to the player that “possesses the traits of being a great LSU Tiger – selfless, team leader and someone who represents all that good about the program.”

LaCotoure went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, but had a brief stint as a free agent with the Baltimore Ravens. LaCotoure returned to LSU for the 2019 and 2020 season as a graduate assistant on the football team, but left for a business opportunity in the spring of 2021.

Jacob Hester played at LSU from 2004 to 2007. Hester started 27 straight games at running back during his final two years in Baton Rouge.

In his career, Hester rushed for 1,780 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns to go with 60 receptions for 454 yards and seven touchdowns. As a senior, Hester had his best season, rushing for 1,103 yards and twenty touchdowns, helping LSU to the BCS National Championship, where the Tigers came out triumphant over Ohio State.

Hester went on to be drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Hester played in the NFL for five seasons, four with the Chargers and one with the Denver Broncos, recording 715 total yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns.

Bennie Logan will serve as one of the guest captains as well. The defensive tackle played at LSU from 2009 to 2012. He played in 30 games for the Tigers over his four-year career. Logan finished his career with 107 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and five sacks. Logan also earned the No. 18 jersey in his final season. As a junior, he recorded 45 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, before declaring for the NFL.

Logan played in NFL for six seasons, from 2013 to 2018, playing four seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles and one season for Kansas City and Tennessee.

The three LSU guest captains will be in Death Valley on Saturday as the Tigers take on Central Michigan looking to finish nonconference play with a 2-1 record.
