Ohio State transfer CB Jyaire Brown commits to LSU
Former Ohio State cornerback Jyaire Brown has announced his commitment to LSU, On3’s Shea Dixon reports. He’s a former Top 300 recruit.
The Lakota West High School product played 195 defensive snaps in 2022, the most of any Buckeyes true freshman that season, but he saw the field for only 48 defensive snaps in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus.
Brown played high school football at Lakota West High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 202 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
The 6’0, 183-pound CB will have 3 years of eligibility remaining and will join a defensive unit that just overhauled its entire defensive staff. Head coach Brian Kelly fired every defensive assistant, including DC Matt House, and owes them a collective sum of roughly $6 million.
Brown will look to be a catalyst of change for the Tigers’ defensive unit in 2024.
