Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest five-star offensive tackle Jonathan Daniels will visit LSU on Tuesday, he announced on Twitter.

Daniels was originally slated to visit early in the month, but Under Armour Orlando camp prevented him from making the trip. He then moved the visit to March 14, but eventually rescheduled for this week.

The Tigers are just one of a number of major programs who are heavily pursuing On3’s No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle.

“Oh my God, it has taken off,” Daniels told TheBengalTiger.com of his recruitment earlier this month. “Sky’s the limit. I just thank God for putting me in the right position and following the right path,” he said. “Georgia, LSU, FSU, Auburn, a couple more. Everybody’s just got a connection and communicating with me.”

The trip will be Daniels’ second as a recruit in Baton Rouge after he visited this fall for a game. This time though, he’ll get to spend more time with offensive line coach Brad Davis, something he said he’s looking forward to.

“Just getting communication and the 1-on-1 time,” Daniels said. “That’s mostly what I’m strong about, communicating every day. Seeing how he coaches in-person instead of online. It’s been good. He calls and texts every day. It’s building, it’s there. First, I want to say the game (LSU-Alabama), oh my God. Being there in-person, everything is just wild. The crowd goes wild. The love, the support, everything is just there. That’s one of the things that I love about LSU. Everybody cares about each other as one. That’s mostly it.”

Others in pursuit of Jonathan Daniels

In addition to the Tigers, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Georgia and Miami are just a few of the schools Daniels is considering right now. He plans to take his decision into his senior season and likely will take official visits this summer and fall.

“I’m taking it day-by-day and I haven’t put a list out there,” Daniels told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I’m just still evaluating, checking out everything, making sure I like what I like and getting all the good feedback I need, getting all my questions asked and making sure which one’s best too and who’s paying more attention to me and communicating.”

As it stands now, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Florida State is the heavy favorite to land Daniels. The RPM gives the Seminoles a 90.9 percent chance of securing his commitment.

“They’ve made me their top target, No. 1,” Daniels told On3. ” … It’s mostly the bond that I have with coach (Mike) Norvell and coach Atkins,” Daniels said. “We talk almost every day. We play and then when I come down there, it’s like I’m at home.”
