Mustang (Okla.) athlete Jacobe Johnson has been offered by LSU, he announced Friday morning on Twitter.

Johnson is the No. 80 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 3 athlete and the No. 1 junior prospect in Oklahoma.

The Industry Comparison shows On3 is higher on Johnson than the rest of the recruiting industry. In the most recent On300 rankings, Johnson jumped into the top 40 nationally and to the No. 1 spot among athletes.

“After a great conversation with Coach Kerry Cooks, I’m excited to say that I have received an offer to play football at Louisiana State University,” Johnson wrote.

Johnson recently told On3 Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton he is hearing from more than 20-25 schools right now, but has largely focused his attention on 10 in recent weeks. That includes Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Ohio State, Stanford and LSU.

“I’m just kind of chilling with it,” Jacobe Johnson said. “Going to go on more visits this summer and probably make my decision this summer about what I want to do. I am still talking to everybody and keep my relationships strong with coaches.”

He plans to visit Stanford, Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, and Tennessee this summer but says those visits aren’t set in stone. Now with an offer in hand from the Tigers, they’ll be one to keep an eye on.
