A big key to LSU’s 72-67 win over Georgia in the first round of the SEC Tournament was winning the glass. They won individually and as a team and, from what Trae Hannibal said after the victory, it’s because they wanted to fight for one another.

Hannibal spoke on the effort the Tigers gave on the glass during their postgame press conference in Nashville. He said it shows their effort, toughness, and willingness to do whatever they have to do as players to help the team get over the finish line.

“This is a tough team. We’ve been through a lot this year. We can’t go back and change it now. But at the end of the day? As long as guys go out there, do their job, and go hard for the team? Anything is possible,” Hannibal said. “Tonight, I just went out there, played hard, and did what I could for a win.”

Hannibal finished with a game-high in rebounds with 11. KJ Williams also joined him in the starting lineup with 8 boards of his own. Meanwhile, Shawn Phillips earned himself a double-double with 10 of his own off the bench. In total, those three were a big part of LSU winning the rebounding battle 40-35 over the Bulldogs.

At this point of the year, it’s time for every player to empty to tank in whatever way they can to get wins. Hannibal and LSU did just that as they earned their way to Thursday and a date with Vanderbilt later tonight in Bridgestone Arena.

Hannibal says LSU must treat crowd like ‘white noise’ against Vanderbilt

After getting a win over Georgia in the first round of the SEC Tournament, LSU earned a game against Vanderbilt. The crowd is expected to be rowdy and LSU guard Trae Hannibal knows that the Tigers need to find a way to combat them.

Speaking to the media, Hannibal explained that they need to treat the crowd like they’re not even there and stay focused on playing together.

“You got to treat it like white noise,” Trae Hannibal said.

“Like tonight, we went out there, as long as our team knows we’re all together as one, we’ll be fine. Everything else, you just got to block it out, go out there, and have fun and play ball. So, I think that we’ll be very fine for tomorrow,” Trae Hannibal concluded.
