2024 5-star CB Desmond Ricks visiting Miami next weekend
Chesapeake (Va.) IMG Academy five-star cornerback Desmond Ricks announced Friday night that he will be visiting Miami next weekend for the Hurricanes’ game against North Carolina. He is making his first trip to Coral Gables since June 6.
Ricks is the No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Florida.
The 6-foot-1, 175 pound defensive back included the Hurricanes in his top 10 schools, which he released over the summer. He had high praise for Mario Cristobal‘s program when speaking with On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons.
“Being on campus and feeling that family vibe made a big impact on my interest in Miami,” Ricks told Simmons. “The love down there really stood out. The whole staff showed love. When I was taking photos, all of the coaches were there with me.
“It really felt like family and Miami really went up my list after that visit.”
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Alabama has the early lead for his commitment at 54.1% The Hurricanes’ odds are at 3.9%.
