2025 CB Timothy Merritt commits to Miami
Birmingham (Ala.) Parker three-star cornerback Timothy Merritt has committed to Miami, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Merritt took an official visit to Miami this weekend — his first time in Coral Gables.
“They showed me everything I needed to see,” Merritt told On3. “The coaches loved me, and I loved them. Beautiful place. Miami speaks for itself.”
Merritt has a solid relationship with Hurricanes cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson, who previously recruited him at Marshall.
“He has been telling me he’s been here first (as a coach recruiting Merritt),” Merritt said. “He didn’t lie about that, he’s been here from Day 1. We have a close relationship, and in this business I feel that matters a lot.”

He also had the shot to connect with other Miami coaches this weekend.
“They were great,” Merritt said. “Great energy here, you can tell it’s a family. They love each other, love their players and take care of their players. I’m thankful that I can be a part of Cane football if I decide to.”
Merritt is the nation’s No. 488 overall prospect, No. 47 cornerback and No. 25 recruit from Alabama in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
