Largo (Fla.) four-star linebacker Adarius Hayes has flipped his commitment from Florida to Miami.

Hayes had previously been committed to the Gators since January 28, when he chose them over offers from Notre Dame, UCF, Florida State and a handful of other programs.

He only took one official visit during the summer — a trip to Florida in early June. But Hayes visited the Hurricanes later in the month, then returned to Coral Gables twice before he announced his flip.

“Miami, their facilities are great,” Hayes told GatorsOnline’s Corey Bender in October. “The coaches are great there and then also the first time being in the stadium in Miami. It was a great opportunity and also a great experience for me and my family. …Coral Gables is nice. When I was driving down there, it was crazy because we had a crazy driver, but once we got there, everything was so nice. Everything was right there in front of you, like, stores and other different facilities around you.”

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder is the No. 74 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 6 linebacker and the No. 7 recruit in the state of Florida.
