Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard four-star cornerback Antione Jackson has requested a release from his National Letter of Intent with Miami, he confirmed on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

Jackson signed with the Hurricanes in December after flipping his commitment from Georgia and reclassifying up from the 2024 class.

The news of his request comes on the heels of Miami defensive coordinator Kevin Steele accepting the same position with Alabama and Miami reportedly hiring Tulane coordinator Lance Guidry to replace him.

Jackson is the No. 248 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 28 cornerback and the No. 46 senior recruit in the state of Florida.

He is one of three cornerback signees in the Hurricanes’ 2023 recruiting class, which sits at No. 6 nationally in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
