Class of 2025 wide receiver Waden Charles of Boynton Beach (FL) Palm Beach Central High announced his commitment to Miami Sunday evening.

The 6-foot-3, 185 pounder chose the Hurricanes over LSU, Georgia, and Florida State.

“Miami showed the most love out of all my offers. They made sure to let me know I was a priority and that they needed me to stay home. The way they played against Texas A&M showed that they are getting back to that winning culture that Miami used to be and I want to be a part of that. Coach Beard is a great coach and mentor. He always keeps it real with me no matter the circumstances and he’s been through a lot so he can teach me right from wrong to be a better player and person.”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“I have a great relationship with the coaching staff. I’m close with all of them but I have a great connection with coach Cristobal, coach Cooney, coach Varner and coach Beard. They plan to use me everywhere since I’m a versatile player that can go to the slot and outside.”

The Sunshine State wide receiver joins coach Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes’ 2025 class. He is accompanied by QB Luke Nickel.
