The race for Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver Ny Carr is well underway. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder decommitted from Georgia on Sept. 24 and has subsequently fielded interest from a heap of major programs around the country.

Over the weekend, Carr was on the Plains visiting Auburn. This weekend, he’s scheduled to make his way down to Coral Gables to visit Miami for a primetime fixture as the Hurricanes take on Georgia Tech under the lights at Hard Rock Stadium.

Carr is the No. 62 overall prospect and No. 12 wideout in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 11 player in Georgia.

The speedy receiver has made it known that the Hurricanes are a clear contender for his pledge. “Miami is at the top right now,” he told CaneSport. “They spread the ball very well, and they’re doing amazing on offense this year. It’s kind of hard to look past it.”

In return, Miami has shown initiative. First-year tight ends coach Cody Woodiel was in the Peach State to check out the elite recruit the day after he decommitted from Georgia. Now, the Canes have a chance to potentially seal the deal with the blue-chipper this weekend.

Miami entering visit “very high” on Carr’s board

The Hurricanes were never at the top for Carr before he originally committed. That is far from the case the second time around. Other schools that are in the running for Carr include Florida, Florida State, Penn State, Colorado and Tennessee.

“I really, really like where Miami stands with this one,” CaneSport recruiting insider Izubee Charles said. “Miami was quick to send a coach up there Monday following his decommitment on Sunday … after speaking with his head coach up at Colquitt County he said the visit went extremely well, he said Carr backed off his commitment from Georgia because he wanted to see what else was out there … wanted to find a better fit for him on and off the field, and I think that could be Miami.”

“Miami, I would say is very high on my board right now,” Carr told Auburn Live. “I’m just liking what they’re doing offensively. They’re throwing the ball around and doing it well, they’re winning. As long as they keep doing that.

Carr has an On3 NIL Valuation of $112K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
