Miami is officially in the mix for Humble (Texas) Summer Creek four-star EDGE Chad Woodfork.

The 6-foot-4.5, 220-pounder announced an official offer from the Hurricanes on Wednesday, adding the high-profile ACC program to a list of over 10 Power Five programs that have already done the same.

Woodfork is the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 6 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 10 player in Texas.

Texas has already had Woodfork on campus twice and is set to welcome him back to The Forty Acres this weekend for a stacked Junior Day visit lineup. He also currently holds offers from the likes of Georgia, Nebraska and USC.

“I was born and raised in Texas, and I’m a huge Texas fan. I’ve been a Longhorns fan my whole life,” Woodfork told On3’s Sam Spiegelman back in May.

“At 6-foot-5 and north of 230 pounds, Woodfork is a force setting the edge in the run and is enormously powerful and stout at the point of attack,” Spiegelman wrote of the EDGE in October. “Woodfork’s length and power are just a few of the reasons why On3 is high on the Houston-area EDGE defender. He’s a traitsy prospect that is just scratching the surface of his potential up front.”

Woodfork has an On3 NIL Valuation of $71K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Hurricanes looking to build another elite class in 2025

Mario Cristobal and the Canes once again excelled on the recruiting trail and currently own the No. 6 class in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. So far in 2025, Miami has a trio of pledges.

Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez is the latest and highest-ranked recruit to join the fold, doing so on Dec. 16. He’s the No. 120 overall prospect and No. 14 LB in the On3 Industry Ranking.

He’s flanked by Boynton Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central four-star wide receiver Waden Charles and Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton three-star quarterback Luke Nickel. Charles is also a top-300 recruit, while Nickel checks in as the No. 33 signal-caller in the cycle.
