Report: Miami RB Henry Parrish plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Miami Hurricanes running back Henry Parrish plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal according to Gaby Urrutia.

Parish started off his college career at Ole Miss, spending two seasons with the Rebels where he rushed for 816 yards in his 161 carries with five touchdowns. Also catching 28 passes for 232 receiving yards before taking his talents back to his hometown of Miami and transferring to join the Hurricanes.

In his first season with Miami Parrish earned Third-Team All-ACC honors after rushing for a career-high 617 yards with four rushing touchdowns. Yet again making an impact as a receiving threat with 21 receptions for 173 yards and two receiving scores in his 10 games (five starts).

Last season with the Hurricanes Parrish was the team’s leading rusher for a second straight season, yet again appearing in 10 games and making five starts where he rushed for 625 yards and six touchdowns on 100 carries. As he’ll know look to make one more stop in his collegiate career as a fifth-year senior at a new program ahead of the 204 season.

Parrish played high school football at Columbus High School in Miami, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 257 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Miami transfer portal numbers

The transfer portal has been favorable for Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes so far this offseason following the team’s 7-6 finish last season.

As of March 19, Miami has had 19 players enter the transfer portal with 10 players joining the Hurricanes through the transfer portal. Given what Miami has lost and gained, the Hurricanes rank No. 18 on On3’s 2024 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings with an Index Score of 19.

Along with Parrish, the Hurricanes lose running back Don Chaney Jr. to the transfer portal as well along with impact offensive players like quarterback Tyler Van Dyke and wide receiver Colbie Young along with five other pass catchers.

But the Hurricanes also acquired one of the gems of the 2024 transfer portal class, adding former Washington State quarterback Cam Ward to their roster. Regarded as one of the best quarterbacks across college football who’s thrown for over 13,000 yards and 100 touchdowns in his four-year college career.
