Miami‘s Jordan Miller will not suit up for tonight’s game against Georgia Tech with a right leg injury, per release.

The 6-foot-7 junior averages 8.7 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game this season while averaging just under 30 minutes per game.

Miller transferred into the Canes program in April after spending the last three seasons at George Mason University, where he earned Third Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in 2020-21.

“We are excited to welcome Jordan and his family into our program here at Miami,” Miami head coach Jim Larrañaga said at the time. “Jordan is a jack-of-all-trades on the court. He is a very versatile player who can score, rebound and defend. He plays extremely hard and has an excellent basketball IQ.”

That welcoming statement turned out to be true, and Miller has been one of the most important pieces of the Miami basketball program all season long.

He was Miami’s best weapon during their first four conference games, dropping double-figures in all four games, including a 25-point performance against North Carolina State which is still a season-high. Miller and the Canes went 4-0 during that stretch, and even notched 17 points in an upset win over then-No. 2 Duke.

The next three games saw him combine for 13 points before scoring 18 and 13 against Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, respectively, yet has only scored 10 in his last two appearances. The Canes are 8-0 when Miller scores at least 10 points.

Miller appeared in 69 games during his tenure at George Mason, starting in 66 of them, including all 32 in 2019-20. He averaged 13.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steal per game, while shooting 48.1 percent from the floor during his career with the Patriots.

He posted his best season last year en route to the All-Atlantic 10 accolades. He averaged 15.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Miller placed sixth in the A-10 in offensive rebounds per game (2.4), No. 10 in scoring and No. 11 in field-goal percentage (46.3).

Over his three years at George Mason, Miller tallied 50 double-digit scoring performances. He scored at least 25 points three times, including a career-high 30-point showing on Nov. 28, 2020, against Howard. Miller also tallied seven double-doubles as a Patriot.
