Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson recently visited Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ game against Western Kentucky, and hopes to get back to Columbus again this year.

Per Stephen Wagner at CaneSport, Robinson plans to take an official visit to Columbus on Oct. 21 for the Buckeyes’ big-time matchup against Penn State.

“(Ohio State) was a late offer for me, so (Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day and offensive coordinator/receivers coach Brian Hartline) sat me down and let me know they had an opportunity to offer me now,” Robinson told CaneSport. “They told me I have an opportunity to be a really great player for them and that I’ll fit really well into their program.”

Robinson is currently committed to Miami after joining the class back in April.

“I’m locked in and solid with Miami. That’s really just where I’m at right now,” Robinson said. “So far, Miami’s been everything they told me they would be (this season). I’m just really impressed with the production Miami has had, the work they put in through all of those spring practices and the summer. All of the work they’ve put in, all of the time, it’s showing.”

Miami recruiting insider Izubee Charles spoke with Josh Newberg on On3’s The Inside Scoop football recruiting show about Robinson’s recruitment and his status with the Hurricanes.

“So since Chance committed to Miami in April, one thing he always has said was, ‘I’m still going to take my visits to other places, take my OVs in the fall to other schools,’ and things like that,” Charles said. “So I’m not too surprised or too worried about seeing him go up to Ohio State or seeing Florida kind of continue to push for him. They’ve been a program that’s been in the mix before his commitment to Miami. With the way things are going with Miami — like I said, with the progression of that wide receiver unit the offense is very exciting, and under Shannon Dawson they’re putting up great numbers — I would have to say I think something very, very drastic would have to happen for him to flip elsewhere, for him to really consider another program right now.

“He’s a South Florida kid. He great up loving Miami, his family loves Miami, specifically his dad. He’s built a great relationship with Mario Cristobal, coach Kevin Beard and all those guys. They’ve done a great job of continuing to recruit him after his commitment. Usually guys kind of say it maybe falls off a little bit or maybe it’s a little bit different after his pledge, but he’s saying they’re recruiting him like he’s still uncommitted. So I feel like that’s working in Miami’s favor. And a lot of other things are working in their favor like I mentioned — the offense is looking great, the wide receivers are looking amazing. So I feel like something drastic would have to happen for him to say, ‘Hey, I don’t want to be committed to Miami anymore, I want to take my talents somewhere else.’”
