Four-star running back Anthony Carrie of Tampa (FL) Carrollwood Day High announced his commitment to Michigan State Saturday evening.

The 6-foot, 200 pounder chose the Spartans over South Carolina and North Carolina.

Carrie on why he chose Michigan State

“Michigan State’s staff has a true plan for Anthony Carrie on and off the field,” Carrie said. “They have expressed a detailed plan on how they can create my dreams and bring them life on and off the field. The family feel they have also made me extremely comfortable being there and around them.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for Anthony Carrie

“I’m extremely close with Coach Reed. He’s been recruiting me since I was a freshman. Coach Jay Johnson and I are close as well. He’s been really involved in my recruiting. Me and coach Tuck as well have a natural relationship that flows. They plan to use me exactly how they use Kenneth Walker; they pretty much run all the zone gap schemes that everyone else in the country runs.”

The Sunshine State running back joins coach Mel Tucker and the Spartans’ top 65 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by three-star safety Reggie Powers, three-star cornerback Jaylen Thompson, and others.

Carrie ranks as the No. 290 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 24 running back and the No. 43 player in the state of Florida.

He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
