“I would like to start off by saying thank you to Coach Tucker and his staff for the opportunity to play football at Michigan State University. It was truly an honor to be around the great group of people that are in East Lansing,” read Jarvis’ official statement.

“Secondly, I would like to thank Coach Kapilovic for not only being a great coach, but a great role model as well. Without his constant drive to make everyone in the room better, this year wouldn’t have been what it was.

“With that being said, I’m forgoing my final year of eligibility and declaring for the NFL draft.”

Jarvis started every game for the Spartans this season on their offensive line. For the first eight games of the year he lined up at right guard, before sliding out to right tackle for the remainder of the season. Jarvis’ versatility on the line is something that many have pointed to as a reason he could find success at the NFL level.

In 44 career games and 39 starts, Jarvis played a combination of right tackle and right guard mostly with three games played as left tackle.

Michigan State ended their season with a win in the Peach Bowl over Pittsburgh, closing the year with an 11-2 record. The biggest loss of their season came at the hands of Ohio State, but the Spartans closed out the year with wins over Michigan and Penn State on their resume.

The Spartans season was a dramatic turnaround from their recent history. Head coach Mel Tucker’s second season brought Michigan State ten wins for the first time since 2017. The Spartans program now has seven ten-win seasons over the last 12 years.
