Class of 2024 offensive tackle Ben Roebuck of Lakewood (OH) St. Edward High announced his commitment to Michigan Wednesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-7, 315 pounder chose the Wolverines over Tennessee, Penn State, and Wisconsin.

Michigan had multiple qualities that stood out to Roebuck that lead him to commit to the Wolverines.

“It really just felt like home. I’ve been to the majority of the Big 10 schools and seen everything and the way Michigan just does it is better. They go all out for everything that they do. After being there you really understand why they’re the winningest program ever and that they’re going to keep it that way.”

His relationship with the coaching staff stood out, and Roebuck discussed Michigan’s plan for him.

“I’d say I’m closest with either Coach Clink or Coach Moore. Coach Clink’s one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever met. He’s all around a great dude. Coach Moore is the one who offered me and who I committed with and he’s been on me for months now about committing and it finally paid off.”

Ben Roebuck talked about what it means to grow up in Ohio, but to commit to the rival school.

“I was an OSU fan growing up, but then I grew up and realized that Michigan was the place to be. Go Blue.”

Roebuck ranks as the No. 594 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 40 offensive tackle and the No. 20 player in the state of Ohio.

The Ohio offensive tackle joins coach Harbaugh and the Wolverines’ Top 8 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by Jordan Marshall, Hogan Hansen, and others.

The newest Wolverine commit is fresh off of a visit to Michigan last week. His lead recruiters were Sherrone Moore and Steve Clinkscale.

Ben Roebuck currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19.7K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
