Michigan running back Blake Corum had a priceless reaction after finding out the Wolverines offensive line claimed the Joe Moore Award for the second straight season on Saturday.

Speaking with On3’s Andrew Graham, Corum was made aware that his teammates had won the award. That led to the Wolverines running back heaping praise on his O-line while also putting in perspective notice of their historic feat.

“Oh they won it?” Corum asked. “I’m not aware, but they deserve it. Is that a first? That might be a first. Them boys deserve it. That just made me happy.”

Michigan’s offensive line paved the way for a rushing attack that led the Big Ten and was sixth in the country with 243 yards per game. Playing behind the Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line, Corum ranks eighth nationally with 1,463 yards rushing in addition to 11 touchdowns.

In addition to winning the Joe Moore Award for the best offensive line unit, Michigan also saw many of its offensive linemen earn individual honors this season. Olusegun Oluwatimi  won both the Outland Trophy and Rimington Trophy given to the best center in college football, becoming the first Wolverines player to win the Outland. Guards Trevor Keegan and Zak Zinter and Oluwatimi were all also named first team All-Big Ten.

The Wolverines finished the regular season undefeated to punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff for the second straight season. Michigan also won the Big Ten Championship for the second straight season.

Corum wasn’t the only one who benefitted from Michigan’s talented offensive line, however. Quarterback JJ McCarthy also received elite protection, as the Wolverines allowed just one sack per game to rank 11th in the country.

The Wolverines will hope their offensive line can continue its dominant play this season when they take on TCU in a College Football Playoff semifinal at 4 p.m. ET on New Year’s Eve.
