Dexter (Mich.) continued its playoff run against Midland (Mich.) on Friday night. The Dreadnaughts got off to a quick 21-0 start, thanks to two early touchdowns from Michigan four-star running back commit Cole Cabana.

On Cabana’s first score, he lined up at receiver and burned the defensive back. Cabana proceeded to race into the end zone untouched for an 88-yard touchdown.

Minutes later, he followed up that play with a 47-yard touchdown reception. The four-star caught a screen pass and then took off down the field.

Cabana is the No. 195 overall prospect and No. 12 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Michigan.

On3 rates Cabana higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is the No. 153 overall prospect and No. 7 running back in the country.

Cabana, who chose the Wolverines on Feb. 5, is the third-highest-ranked prospect in Michigan’s 2023 recruiting class. The group is currently led by Colleyville (Texas) Covenant Christian Academy four-star defensive lineman Enow Etta, the No. 117 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

A 5-foot-11,180-pound tailback, Cabana has an On3 NIL Valuation of $40K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Cole Cabana On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Cole Cabana:

“Electric playmaker with the ball in his hands who lived in the endzone during his junior season. Scored 28 total touchdowns with nearly 2,200 all-purpose yards during his junior campaign. Top-end speed is top tier. Terrific sprinter who ran 6.43 in the 55m, 6.82 in the 60m and a blistering 10.55 100m during his junior track and field season. Excellent wiggle and change of direction. Plays with a low center of gravity and tremendous field vision. Quality pass catcher who should be effective in the passing game at the next level.

“Build is lean now but should add solid muscle mass as he works in a collegiate strength and conditioning program. Never going to be a bruiser but plays physically. Terrific all-around skillset who has the chance to fill an immediate change-of-pace role early at the next level and potentially be the workhorse down the line. NFL potential is capped due to size, but still has NFL upside.”
