Four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis of Charlotte (NC) Providence Day School announced his commitment to Michigan Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-1, 200 pounder chose the Wolverines over Clemson, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Ohio State.

The North Carolina quarterback joins coach Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines’ Top 10 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by Jordan Marshall, Jacob Oden, and others.

Davis ranks as the No. 26 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 4 quarterback and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina.

Jadyn Davis Scouting Summary

“Accurate passer of the football who can place it with the best of them. Displays excellent patience within the pocket. Does a tremendous job processing and reading the field and going through his progressions. Can layer the football over underneath defenders and drops the ball into the bucket on throws deep downfield. Stands in at nearly 6-foot-1, just under 200 pounds with a 9.25-inch hand. Solid build and has some density throughout his frame. Comfortable rolling out of the pocket but can really see his velocity waver and the ball start to flutter when throwing off-balance. Excellent distributor of the football, will gain more zip as he grows into his frame and gets stronger. High floor prospect who will consistently move the chains at the next level. Won North Carolina’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2022 throwing for over 3,400 yards and 43 touchdowns on 73-percent completions.”

Personal Life (per On3 DB)

Jadyn Davis had a 2022 season to remember. Davis won North Carolina’s biggest high school football honor, being named Mr. Football in the state. He followed that up by earning state Player of the Year honors from Max Preps and High School Football America. Plus, he was named the Offensive Player of the Year by a group of local sports writers who released the official all-state high school football team for the first time in three years. Davis was also recognized as the Charlotte Observer’s Offensive Player of the Year. But he wrapped up the recognition with a national honor by winning the Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year award in January 2023.”

“Jadyn’s arm talent is obvious, but it’s his intangibles that make him truly special,” Providence Day head coach Chad Grier told the Charlotte Observer. “He is a tremendous leader. He is fiercely competitive, and that trait is not limited to Friday nights.” Davis led Providence Day School to a 12-1 record and passed for 3,425 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2022. He had six passing TDs in Providence Day School’s 55-13 win over Charlotte Christian School in the state final, avenging the team’s only regular-season loss.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $557K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
