Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is quite the character. In fact, Harbaugh said he would take up mowing the lawn or some kind of landscaping if he didn’t coach for a living.

The Wolverines coach gives off serious dad vibes with his khaki pants, love for outdoors life and lawn maintenance. At this point, he can pretty much do whatever he wants after Michigan won back-to-back Big ten titles.

Not only does Harbaugh love mowing the lawn, he opened up about the feeling in general.

“A lawnsman! That’s what I do. Mowing the lawn is one of the great feelings I have in life,” Harbaugh said, via SI.com when asked what he’d be doing if he wasn’t coaching football.

Coaching is in Harbaugh’s blood however. While he gets to coach at his alma mater and finally broke through with conference crowns and wins over Ohio State, the NFL tired to get him back over the last two offseason cycles.

“No matter the noise, Harbaugh has always strummed to his own beat,” On3’s Jesse Simonton wrote. “Just a year ago, the veteran head coach said he was done eyeing a jump to the NFL, calling it a ‘one-time thing.’ Only yet again, Harbaugh’s name was linked to multiple openings this offseason.

“But whether it was a leverage play by his agent for more money from Michigan, or if Harbaugh truly wanted to make the move, both parties should be very happy about the current outcome.”

Maybe Harbaugh will leverage law mowing next.

Jim Harbaugh honest about state of Michigan program

Besides Harbaugh flirting with the NFL and offensive coordinator Matt Weiss being fired amid a criminal investigation, the NCAA sent the program a notice of allegations. Those allegations include four Level II and one Level I violation.

Harbaugh did his best to evaluate the state of the program in light of those issues.

“Compare us to perfect and we’re going to come up short,” Harbaugh said in February. “Compare us to any program, it doesn’t get any better.”

That remains to be seen when it comes to the 2023 season. But if Harbaugh and Michigan end up winning the Big Ten again, the Wolverines set themselves up to win a national championship.
