Michigan Wolverines’ basketball fans got some huge news on Sunday afternoon. Hunter Dickinson told Stadium he is returning to Ann Arbor for one more season. “At the end of the day I felt like I wasn’t done with college basketball yet,” Dickinson said.

The gifted big man has been one of the best players in college basketball for the past few seasons. Check out the announcement he also posted to his Twitter page.

He made the announcement saying, “I ain’t done yet.”

There was speculation that Dickinson would enter the 2022 NBA Draft this spring, but he opted not to before the Sunday night deadline. The 7-foot-1 center has been named a two-time All-Big Ten selection the past two years and has propelled the Wolverines to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

His return to the Wolverines is yet another victory for NIL in keeping some of the game’s biggest stars in college basketball for a little bit longer before they chase NBA riches.

Last season, Dickinson poured in 18.6 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, and 2.3 assists per game for the Wolverines. He helped propel the Wolverines to a surprising 2022 NCAA Tournament run all the way to the Sweet 16.

Even though Michigan lost to Villanova this year in the Sweet 16, Dickinson still stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points and 15 rebounds. In the Round of 32 versus the No. 3 seed Tennessee Volunteers, the big man brought his best stuff to the court, pouring in 27 points and corralling 11 rebounds in a 76-68 upset victory for the Wolverines.

In returning to college, Dickinson is a near-lock to land on several preseason All-American lists ahead of the 2022-2023 college basketball season.

Michigan head coach Juwan Howard will now await the decisions of two starters, Caleb Houstan and Moussa Diabate. Both players have yet to publicly announce their 2022 NBA Draft intentions.
