Michigan staffer, former star quarterback Denard Robinson arrested for DUI

Michigan staffer Denard Robinson was arrested Monday morning, according to M Live’s Aaron McMann. He was involved in a car crash while intoxicated.

“Michigan staffer Denard Robinson was arrested early this morning in Ann Arbor for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated,” McMann wrote on Twitter. “Police spokesman tells (M Live) Robinson, the team’s assistant director of player personnel, was involved in a single-vehicle crash at 3:05 a.m.”

Robinson, a former quarterback for the Wolverines from 2009-12, joined Michigan in 2022 as the assistant director of player personnel.

While with Michigan, Robinson played at a high level, being a First-Team All-American in 2010. He was also the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the Big Ten’s MVP.

He was also the Gator Bowl MVP in 2011. Robinson was quite the dual threat quarterback during his time with the Wolverines.

Robinson finished his college career with 6,250 passing yards, 49 touchdowns, 39 interceptions, a 57.2% completion percentage, 4,495 rushing yards and 42 rushing touchdowns.

He was a fifth round pick (No. 135) by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but as a running back rather than a quarterback. Playing four seasons, Robinson’s best year came in 2014.

He finished his NFL career with 259 carries for 1,041 yards, five touchdowns, four yards per carry, 47 catches and 310 receiving yards.

Robinson began his coaching career in 2019 when the Jaguars hired him as an offensive analyst and eventually moved to the front office. He was hired by his alma mater in 2022.

Coach Harbaugh and I have been talking for almost a year about returning to help the program, and to have it finally come together is a dream come true and fulfills one of my career goals.
