Charlotte (N.C.) Julius L. Chambers three-star wide receiver Kevin Concepcion has announced his commitment to NC State. He chose the Wolfpack over North Carolina.

Concepcion is the No. 567 overall recruit and No. 85 wide receiver 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 18 player in North Carolina.

The 6-foot-0, 170 pound wideout made his decision following a June 17 official visit to Raleigh. He also took multiple unofficial visits to NC State, including one on July 29. Concepcion also took an official visit to the Tar Heels on June 24.

He is currently the only wide receiver in NC State’s 2023 recruiting class. Concepcion is also the fifth-highest-ranked prospect in the group. The only NC State commitments ranked ahead of him are Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage four-star safety Daemon Fagan, Havelock (N.C.) four-star tight end Javonte Vereen, Arden (N.C.) Christ School four-star safety Zack Myers and Charlotte (N.C.) West Charlotte three-star offensive tackle Darion Rivers.

Concepcion had high praise for the Wolfpack from early on in his recruiting process. He built close bonds with multiple coaches and enjoyed the team environment.

“They seem like a family to me,” Concepcion told The Wolfpacker in November. “Everybody is close, and that is what I look for when I decide on a college. I want to go somewhere where they seem like a family.”

Those coaches he has built connections with include wide receivers coach Joker Phillips.

“Ever since they offered me, I’ve been talking with Coach Joker every week,” Concepcion told The Wolfpacker in July. “I’ve been talking with (Wake Forest, N.C. four-star quarterback commit) Lex (Thomas) every day, dang near. The relationships are definitely important for sure.”

Concepcion has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.5K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
