Paul McNeil, a four-star shooting guard in the 2024 class, has committed to NC State.

The 6-foot-6 junior out of Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond Senior chose the Wolfpack over offers from Clemson, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Alabama, Miami, LSU, and others.

McNeil is the first player to commit to NC State in the 2024 class.

According to the On3 Consensus, McNeil ranks as the No. 42 overall prospect in the country. The On3 Consensus is the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, On3).

Scouting Report

“Paul McNeil is a lengthy wing,” On3’s Jamie Shaw writes. “He has a natural feel for scoring the ball. McNeil plays with the utmost confidence and is best in the mid-range. He has a slight hitch in his three-point shot that can get him off at times. McNeil lacks explosive burst but can get to his spots, going right. He is a good area rebounder and an active wing defender. McNeil was North Carolina’s first sophomore to win Gatorade Player of the Year.”
