Omaha (Neb.) Bellevue West three-star wide receiver Isaiah McMorris is staying home and committed to Nebraska on Friday morning.

He is one of two commitments for the Huskers on the day for Matt Rhule and Co., joining his high school teammate and four-star wide receiver Dae’vonn Hall.

The 6-foot, 170-pound McMorris chose the Huskers over reported offers from Penn State, Oklahoma, USC and more. He was a top target for Rhule since he took over in December, and their efforts landed him in NU’s class.

“Matt Rhule and the new staff, they really stay recruiting me,” McMorris told On3’s Chad Simmons in April. “They stay on me hard. The whole staff is like that. They’re telling me that I’m a priority for them.”

Rhule and Co. want him lining up both outside and in the slot as a dynamic playmaker in the Huskers’ new offensive scheme. And despite Nebraska’s lack of success in recent years, McMorris believes Rhule is in the process of turning things around, similarly to what he did at Baylor and Temple.

“Everybody knows that Nebraska used to be one of the top programs,” McMorris told Simmons. “These last couple years, they haven’t been. So, they’re just bringing a winning mindset and I really like that mindset because when you go to college, you want to win. That’s what really stands out the most.”

McMorris joins a deep Nebraska recruiting class

Hall and McMorris are the 16th and 17th commitments in the 2024 cycle for the Huskers, who came into the day ranked No. 30 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

They’re also the second and third in-state commitments for Rhule this cycle, joining three-star Omaha North safety Donovan Jones, who committed on Thursday.

The Huskers’ class now features of trio of four-star prospects: Hall, Rice Consolidated (Texas) safety Roger Gradney and DeSoto (Texas) cornerback Mario Buford, the No. 144 overall prospect in the On300 rankings.

This crop also features three-star running back Willis McGahee IV, in-state quarterback Daniel Kaelin — who the Huskers flipped from Missouri — and talented tight end Ian Flynt, among others.
