Former Utah guard Rollie Worster will transfer to play for Nebraska in 2024-25, he announced Monday via his Instagram. He spent the past three seasons for the Utes after beginning his college career at Utah State in 2020-21.

Worster appeared in 16 games this past season for the Utes to average 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. Unfortunately, he suffered a leg injury that caused him to miss the final two months.

Worster started 76 of the 77 games he appeared in over the past three seasons in Utah and will bring plenty of experience with him to Lincoln. He is still in search of his first career triple-double, but came extremely close in the 2022-23 season with 12 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists against Arizona.

Worster played high school basketball for Hellgate High in Missoula, Montana. He was unranked in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He proved that to be a big mistake after starting 25 of 26 games his freshman season at Utah State to average 9.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Worster is a true floor general who should get opportunity to run the point in Lincoln. He will have one year of eligibility remaining as he prepares to join a Nebraska team coming off of a 23-11 finish this past season.

Rollie Worster not the only transfer for Nebraska

Rollie Worster is the second transfer that has committed to Nebraska so far this offseason. The Cornhusker also landed a pledge from North Dakota State forward Andrew Morgan, the No. 104 overall player in On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings.

Morgan says he also considered Minnesota and Penn State, along with the Huskers. The 6-foot-10 junior averaged 12.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season for the Bison.

Of course, it hasn’t all been good news for Nebraska in the portal this offseason. The Cornhusker have lost six players as well, including Jamarques Lawrence, who started 23 games for them this past season.

Lawrence has spent the past two seasons with the Cornhuskers. In those two collegiate years where he has made 62 appearances, including 35 starts, he has averaged six points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 21 minutes per game. He has also shot 41.5% from the field and 36.4% from three.
