On3 Consensus four-star receiver Decoldest Crawford of Shreveport (La.) Green Oaks was one time an LSU commitment. During that time, he was being recruited by Mickey Joseph.

Now Joseph is the new receivers coach at Nebraska.

And now Crawford is a Cornhusker commitment.

Decoldest Crawford announced his commitment to Nebraska on the final day of the early signing period. He gives the Huskers’ class a big-time boost in the class.

Before Decoldest Crawford’s addition, the Big Red had the No. 55 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking and was tabbed as one of the signing day losers.

Crawford joins three-star Victor Jones Jr. as key receiver targets in the Huskers’ 2022 class. Both could see the field quickly in Lincoln. That’s because of the need for more depth at the position.

Decoldest Crawford ranks as the No. 63 receiver in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the No. 19 player in Louisiana.

Maybe, more importantly, landing Crawford could help Nebraska get a renewed foothold with talent in the Bayou State with Joseph – who was previously at LSU for five years – now recruiting the state for the Huskers.

Crawford announced on Dec. 7 that he was backing away from his longtime commitment to LSU. He was committed to the Tigers for over two years. He first announced his commitment on Oct. 28, 2019.

The decommitment came after Brian Kelly was named the new coach in Baton Rouge. It also came on the same day that Nebraska offered him a scholarship.
